christmas 2009 [27 Dec 2009|09:06pm] sierrazen Christmas was good this year. Highlights included a teapot, throw rug, candle set, gift cards, Peter Alexander jim jams, diary and earrings. I am itching for Aunty Violet to fall asleep so I can comandeer the TV and watch some more Doctor Who. I'm about halfway through season 3 and I keep having manic Who moments at work where I'll spontaneously think of something and then either grin or get wibbly. It's been lovely and cool here the past few days. A welcome relief from the overwhelming heat. The cats are more settled in cool weather and I feel like I'm human instead of a sweaty mess. I've spent the past few days devouring A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It feels like I'm making very slow progress considering it's 1500 pages long. Gack gack gack so much to do and so little time. 9 weeks until uni starts!!!!! eep!!! Excited! Nervous! Stuff to do! 4 comments|post comment

[26 Dec 2009|01:15am] telescopica Just got in some late night quality Christmas time with my brother and his wife Heather. We got sushi at 11 and met up with his friend Eamon and his buddy Ralph. SWEET POTATO SUSHI WITH TEMPURA = SO GOOD. Smoked at Eamon's gramma's house, which was shweet. I got super stressed earlier. I was expecting it... I mean my mom invited my cousin and her 5 KID BOYS ages 2-10 for dinner. I was cooking allll day and didn't even touch any of the food I made because as soon as the kids showed up, one of them started barfing in his hands. Then my brother's dog snarled at one of the little ones... freaked me out. So I left and visited my dad, then came back. And the thought of 5 little boys around all the food kind of made me queasy. I'm no germaphobe but I'm weird with food and kids/the elderly/disabled.... it's the drool factor. I can't help it. ( a couple gifts worth mentioning ) Tomorrow, I have to bus tables and I am THE OPPOSITE OF EXCITED. Le sigh! I haven't been getting many days at work lately, so it sucks that one of my 3 this week is bussing. AND I HAVE TO BUS, ALONE, ON NEW YEAR'S EVE. Ridiculous. I may make $200 though (speculation). I also came further out of the weed closet to my parents by asking them for help in my search for a missing bag. My stepdad was glad to help me look around my room with his pocket flashlight, and HE found it! In a remote corner of my room that the weed gnomes KNEW I would never look. Muahaha. I found a ton of online stores that sell brand new uggs for less than 100 dollars. At regular retail stores, they are about 189. So my question to you beautiful shoe lovers is, have you ever purchased uggs on ebay? What was your experience? Are they real uggs? I usually check the seller's ratings and if the ratings are high, then I buy them...any input on uggs is much appreciated. post comment

[23 Dec 2009|10:41pm] telescopica I really really REALLY liked Avatar! AHHHH! You simply MUST see it in 3D though. I usually have trouble staying enthusiastic during a regular hour-and-a-half movie... this one was 3 hours long and I was sad when it ended! Wtf?! The complaints I've heard are that the plot was lame... I wouldn't say lame, but yeah, it IS a major film so it does have some typical movie elements. But holy shit, who cares?! EYE CANDY! The bio-luminescent plant life was the best part. Muahaha. It made me want to get in tune with nature and leap from absurd heights. Go seeee it, y0... it won't be the same on a TV or a computer screen! post comment
